The Art of Dressing Greens

Enjoy the homemade goodness of olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressings on a variety of salads for a fresh and delicious experience.

Here's a simple recipe that's quick and easy.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, some balsamics are sweeter than others and may not need this)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a small bowl or jar, combine the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and sweetener (if using).

Whisk or shake the ingredients vigorously until they are well combined and emulsified.  Add salt and pepper to taste

Tip ** For a creamier texture, you can add a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt or mayo to the dressing and mix well.

The dressing is ready to use or can be store in the refrierator in an airtight container for 5 days (shake before use)

Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic dressing over your favorite salad greens, vegetables, or mixed salad ingredients.

Tip** Try adding in additional herbs, spices, or flavourings such as dried herbs, shallots, lemon juice, or a touch of honey.
